Ladder Training ... Since the new Aerial 5 has been placed in service there has been a lot of training with this truck in the past few weeks.
Haz-Mat Training ... On April 20, 2008 the Radford Fire and Rescue Haz-Mat Technicians along with the other members of the Giles County Regional Haz-Mat Response Team conducted training at the Radford Fire and Rescue Department.
Confined Space Training ... Radford Fire and Rescue "A" Shift participated in a confined space training with members of the City of Radford Public Works Department on Wednesday, 7 November, 2007. The training was conducted at the Brunswick Center by Carl Lankford of Safe Spaces, LLC.
HAZ-Mat Training ... Radford Fire and Rescue practiced Haz-Mat operations at it's Monday night training. A Chlorine leak was SIMULATED at the city water treatment plant recently for a Haz-Mat drill for the members of Radford Fire and Rescue. The drill was a leaking cylinder and the Haz-Mat team was to go into the facility and stop the leak. The drill was overseen by members of the Giles County Regional Response Team and a Haz-Mat officer from VDEM.
Rope Training ... Radford Fire and Rescue practiced rope rescue operations at it's Monday night training.
Radford Fire and Rescue participant in Swift Water Training... Radford Fire and Rescue Swift Water Team members participated in swift water training with local fire departments from the New River Valley. This training took place along the New River in the McCoy Falls area of Montgomery County.
