The City of Radford Fire and Rescue Department is a combination (paid and volunteer) department that serves the City of Radford, Virginia and Radford University in addition to mutual aid with surrounding areas of Pulaski and Montgomery counties.

Radford Fire and Rescue Department currently consist of 11 career and 20 volunteer firefighters.

The normal hours for the administration offices are 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. Since we are a combination department the City of Radford Fire and Rescue Department is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This allows us to have the first response unit in service in under a minute. Additionally, our on-the-scene time is consistently under 6 minutes.
