The Radford Municipal Animal Shelter has seen tremendous improvements over the past year.  Animal Control Officer Adele Katrovitz has been hard at work making the shelter a friendlier environment.  Some of the changes that can be seen are a newly painted office and welcoming area, newly painted cat room and the dog room is currently being repainted.  It is amazing to see the transformation that the office has undergone, but looks are not just the only thing that has changed.  Adele has done a tremendous job of adopting out the animals as they come in and has created a Radford Municipal Animal Shelter Facebook page that helps animals find loving homes; this page also helps owners who have lost animals find them again.  The numbers show the success that has occurred in the past year, but the point Adele wants people to take home is that the Animal Shelter is not a sad place, but one where people should feel welcome.  Even if you are not looking for an animal, please stop by and visit the facility, you can drop off a donation of supplies or take one of the dogs on a walk.
