Water Department

Radford’s source of drinking water is the New River just below the Claytor
Lake reservoir. Even during times of regional drought, the New River has
proven to be a very reliable supply of raw water. The treatment plant is
licensed and constructed to provide up to 8 million gallons of water a day
to users of the system.

The wastewater collection system is maintained by the City, but treatment
is done by the Pepper’s Ferry Regional Wastewater Treatment Authority
located in Pulaski County. The City has adequate capacity to handle growth
in both the water and wastewater systems.
